our stay in pura vida was surely not long enough

We were there just for a week for the destination wedding. And we were so busy, we didn't get to do all the things that we wanted to do. We did have a Costa Rican Thanksgiving. Another thing I won't forget as it was unique.

That Thanksgiving evening, my mom sent us out to go buy rice and we drove into town. The mercado was close by a few restaurant joints and I felt like one of those exotic mojitos mixed with fruit. I stopped by one of the stalls and and asked, "¿hablas inglés?" The Tica replied, "muy poquito." So I just pointed to the menu and got a passion fruit mojito.

My boyfriend laughed and made fun of my "white" American accent. I told him that he was better at speaking Spanish than me, why didn't he talk? He definitely can enunciate but I told him not to do the Mexican accent because it would offend them as Ticos don't speak in the same accent lol. All that I remembered was that they spoke really fast and the words sounded clean. The ladies went out for a bachelorette party previously and they had all kinds of mojitos, one with watermelon and some others I couldn't remember.

But the passionfruits were so good. They were the round, bright orange, sweet ones. They were granadillas or what I also called, maracuya. Costa Rica also had the second to best tasting coconuts I've ever had. My boyfriend and I tried to get our hands on them, every time we saw them. And each time we had them, they were different. Some green, some yellow. All sweet but we even had one that was fizzy but still good. That was something so interesting.

Heading back after we got the rice, we had to drive up a hill. Because it was a manual and my boyfriend wasn't familiar with, he wasn't giving enough gas so he kept stalling on the hill. 😂 Eventually another SUV got behind us and then a gentleman stepped out of his vehicle to assist us, help drive our RAV4 up the hill lol! He was from New York and he moved to Costa Rica with his wife. Another incident I won't forget lol.

With our trip nearing to an end, on our way to our last destination, we went to visit the newly married couple at their new place they were staying at in Tamarindo. They stayed at 15 Love, bed and breakfast. I loved it because of the name and how they had tennis courts. My boyfriend and I like to play tennis too so I thought to myself that the next time we visit to Costa Rica, we need to stay there.

But the best part of our trip was saved for last.
