911 monkey trail

This was one of the events that occurred. I think we were actually heading from Brasilito to Playa Matapalo, to stay at the all inclusive Riu Guanacaste for a night before heading to Tamarindo.

I remember being at home and planning out everything, printing out confirmations, itineraries and maps just in case we had no service and etc. I was looking at Google Maps on the desktop and was looking at how to get to Matapalo from Brasilito.

As I was mapping it, I saw 911 Monkey Trail. But I was like, eh, and just shrugged. Because any routes that you see on "Google Maps" is paved, right? I saw that the ETA was about 40 minutes. And if we took a highway that went around the whole area, it would take and hour and 20 minutes and that was just a waste of miles and time.

On our way there, we were anticipating a road. And it seem like we never got to it and we thought we were lost. Then it hit us we were off-roading. Because through the car rental, we also got a GPS that told us we were going the right way.

We climbed the mountain, one of the bumpiest rides of my life. And then back down, crossing through a river. And it was like this, up, down, up, down for 40 minutes until we made it to the paved road where the resort was on.

I gave my mom props for offroading. I now have a lot of respect for the Toyota RAV4 for what it can do. I thought it was just a Jeep thing lol. So when you come to Costa, be prepared for this! Especially if it says 911 or has monkey trail in it! Lol.
